Bill Matzat has been working with wood since his childhood. Over the years, he has been designing and crafting unique furniture pieces as well as other decorative items. In recent years, he has incorporated sculpture and stained glass artistry into his projects.

A New Yorker by birth, Bill's theological education brought him to the Midwest where he received a BA degree from Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne, IN and M.Div. and D.Min. degrees from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He served his thirty-eight years of professional ministry as a parish pastor in North Carolina and Missouri and as an institutional chaplain at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Having recently retired from full-time ministry, Bill has developed Dovetail Creations through which he plans to integrate his theological expertise with his creative workmanship.
